Honorable Janet Wolf, Former 2nd District Supervisor: Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors; Gray Panthers Board of Directors

The Honorable Janet Wolf served 12 years on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors for the 2nd District. Prior to her supervisorial role, Wolf was a teacher of English and physical education. She was also a vocational rehabilitation consultant helping disabled individuals return to gainful employment.

Currently, Wolf serves on the Gray Panthers Santa Barbara Network Board of Directors. As one of the founding members, she is proud of the Gray Panthers’ mission to provide educational programs of interest to older adults and those who share similar concerns, including advocating for public policies beneficial to people of all ages. 

Gina Fischer, County Chief of Staff, 3rd District Board of Supervisors

Gina Fischer is the Chief of Staff for 3rd District Supervisor Joan Hartmann. Fischer has extensive experience in political organizing and non-profit leadership. Prior to working for Supervisor Hartmann, she served as the Director of Public Policy and Community Engagement at Planned Parenthood California Central Coast its Action Fund. She held a previous post as the Community Programs Manager for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. Under her leadership, the Foodbank earned national recognition from Feeding America for creating the most innovative programs aimed at ending the childhood hunger crisis in America. 

She has successfully organized and managed political campaigns for progressive women running for office on the Central Coast. Fischer has also served on a number of community boards and commissions including as Chair of the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women; Vice Chair of the Santa Barbara County Historic Landmarks Advisory Commission. Currently serves on the Board of Directors at the public Peabody Charter School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Geography and a minor in History from UC Santa Barbara and lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and young son.

Joscelynn (Jojo) Murdock, Commissioner and Co-Chair  4th District, County Commission for Women

Joscelynn Murdock, also known as Jojo, is a commissioner of the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women, 4th District. In addition to her role as Commissioner Murdock, Jojo is also the Executive Director of the Non-profit Organization Awakening Giants, where she works at empowering and inspiring people to invest in themselves through information acquisition, educational attainment, and outreach in the community. She believes it is important to give back to the community to create a meaningful change. 

Jojo is committed to working for nonprofits because, for her, “it makes me feel like I am living my purpose.”  Among her favorite things is having people come back to her years later saying how her work helped them to get to where they are now. Jojo went through the foster care system and is one of the success stories, which is why she embraces her role as a mentor to others. 

Commissioner Murdock has a BA Degree in Sociology from UCSB. She is happily married to Kevin Murdock (13 years) and they have three children.
